SIU System Climate Survey
February 2 to March 2, 2026
The SIU System is conducting a Campus Climate Survey beginning February 2, 2026 to March 2, 2026. To ensure confidentiality, the survey will be emailed by Viewfinder to all administrators, faculty, staff and students at our campuses in Carbondale, Edwardsville, E. St. Louis, Alton and Springfield.
The goal: To give the system a clearer picture of our campus climate including how people feel, how our policies are working and where we can do better. The survey will also include a few questions about the system’s strategic plans for the future.
Please watch SIU President Dan Mahony’s message encouraging everyone to take just a few minutes to fill out the survey. The results will be shared in April 2026.
The last time the system conducted a survey like this was in 2022. The system was very grateful to have wonderful participation then and have taken substantive steps to address the gaps that were uncovered during the survey. The system plans to do the same after the 2026 results come in as we work to strengthen equity, improve recruitment and retention for students, faculty, administrators and staff, and build a community where everyone feels welcome, safe and respected.
