Sumitra is pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from SIUE and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from Tribhuvan University in Nepal. She joined the SIU Internal Audit department in 2026 as a Graduate Research Assistant and brings experience in data analysis, automation, and software development. She also serves as President of the International Business Association (IBA) at SIUE.
