Biography of Jason Johnson
Jason Jordan serves as Associate General Counsel for Healthcare and Compliance at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. His primary focus for the University is on transactional matters (including the negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts), and serves as an advisor to various committees, among other responsibilities.
Prior to joining Southern Illinois University, Jason worked in a variety of governmental settings including the Office of General Counsel for the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services and the Illinois Department on Aging. Jason assisted with contracts, grants, rulemaking, litigation, administrative hearings, policy, and general Medicaid compliance. Before joining the state as in-house counsel, Jason practiced in the area of criminal law and appellate litigation for Illinois’ Office of the State Appellate Defender, appearing in the appellate courts and the Supreme Court of the state of Illinois.
Jason graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law and completed his undergraduate work at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Jason served on active duty for the United States Army before beginning his legal career.
