Methodology
The SIU Office of Internal Audit follows a set of written procedures to enhance its effectiveness, utilizing an Agile Audit approach when feasible.
Agile auditing is based on completing work in small, repeatable steps that allow for ongoing improvement and flexibility. Agile is a methodology for approaching work that emphasizes iterative development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between cross-functional teams to adjust to emerging risks and shifting business needs. This approach encourages regular communication with stakeholders and helps the audit function stay aligned with organizational priorities while maintaining compliance with professional standards. By focusing on what matters most and delivering insights more quickly, agile auditing helps the organization make more informed decisions, support the achievement of strategic goals, and manage risk more proactively.
