SIU is committed to ensuring that our student innovators have access to both the academic and practical tools they need for long-term success. Various resources are identified by campus below.
SIU Carbondale Campus
Saluki Entrepreneur CorpsThis Registered Student Organization (RSO) draws together student entrepreneurs from across all majors to develop business skills, learn from experts in the College of Business and the Illinois Small Business Development Center, and gain real-life work experience.
Saluki Ventures
This business incubator provides students with training, mentorship, consulting services, networking opportunities and office/innovation space to start and grow their business. Saluki Ventures is designed to nurture entrepreneurship while accommodating the demands of full-time enrollment at SIU Carbondale.
University Innovation Fellows
The University Innovation Fellows Program is a national group of students dedicated to ensuring that higher education provides adequate preparation to succeed in the evolving economy. See here for past and current SIU Fellows.
SIU Edwardsville Campus
Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Program
This program helps to connect students with faculty researchers and creative professionals for hands-on experience in their chosen field.
SIU School of Medicine (Springfield) Campus
Center for Clinical Research
This centralized infrastructure provides shared, flexible administrative services to support student and faculty researchers. The Center provides training to researchers, helps to facilitate clinical trials, and also collaborates with Washington University in St. Louis to administer a program to reduce disparities in rural cancer health.
