ADEI Leadership Retreat
August 3-4 at SIU-Edwardsville
Approximately 25 SIU ADEI leaders convened for the 2023 Leadership Retreat August 3-4, 2023, on the SIU-Edwardsville campus. Dr. Sheila Caldwell, V.P. ADEI, suggested that the Retreat aimed to model an inclusive and supportive environment for all team members. She continued that embracing ADEI is crucial in fostering a vibrant community that values and respects the unique contributions of every individual. Participants shared their thoughts, experiences, and ideas during the sessions. Assembling together furthers SIU System’s commitment to equity and inclusion as well as our work toward building a better future for all!
Attendees participated in robust sessions including a Core Values Inventory Assessment and heard presentations involving the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on Affirmative Action, an update on SIU’s Strategic Plan, as well as a stimulating presentation involving Rest is Resistance.
